Extreme Sample Converter is intended to help you preview, edit and convert audio samples from a single tool. Together, these panels help you find the desired file, check its related information and preview its contents. Unfortunately, the interface looks somewhat outdated and probably needs retouching.

From my point of view, the main asset of this tool is derived from its support of a wide range of audio formats and the excellence of the results. In this respect, in addition to such known formats as WAV, FLAC and OGG Vorbis, the program also allows importing multiple less frequent formats, including Akai, SoundFont, GigaSampler, Sampletank, Creamware and many others. Besides, it is also possible to import sounds from audio CDs. Fortunately, the software allows converting samples in batches as multiple selections of source files are supported. For this purpose, it is good that you can use filters to view a given file extension only.

Another significant feature of this product is that allows editing audio. In this regard, it offers some quite useful possibilities that are not always found in similar software. For example, depending on the type of format, it lets you edit the audio channels separately to create interesting effects. Similarly, it supports tuning stereo samples together by setting different loops for each channel. What is more, the tool lets you select the desired audio stretch with utmost accuracy with the help of the graphic representation of the sound.

To conclude, it is important to point out that the features described above are but a few compared to everything you can do with this tool. Therefore, it is a product I recommend trying because I am sure it has what it takes to satisfy the most demanding users. Luckily, it is free to try without many limitations, except for a short noise burst added every few seconds.
